Having great skin doesn’t need to hurt your pockets. You’d be surprised at how simple your skincare routine needs to be to have great skin. No, you do not need to change your entire routine or purchase the most expensive cleanser. Here are five daily habits for great skin.

Habit #1 – Drinking Plenty of Water
This may seem like the easiest thing to do, but for me drinking the recommended amount of water daily is hard. Wrinkles, fine lines, and pores are more prominent in the skin if you don’t drink enough water. Water helps keep the skin hydrated and plump and improves elasticity. Obviously water isn’t going to magically clear up your skin, but it does have some benefits. The proper skincare routine and moisturizing daily will have a better effect than increasing your water intake alone.
Habit #2 – Wearing SPF Daily
Protecting your skin from the sun is the most important step in your skincare routine. Not only can the sun speed up the aging process, but it can also cause skin cancer and damage to your skin. Using a sunscreen with SPF 30 will protect your skin for about 5 hours, so don’t forget to reapply when needed. You can find sunscreen in so many products like moisturizer, primer, and foundation so there is no excuse for you not to wear it daily, friend!

Habit #: Consistent Skincare Routine
Much like anything in life, if you are consistent you will see results. This goes for a consistent skincare routine as well. This doesn’t have to be a lot of steps either. Sometimes I just cleanse, apply sunscreen, serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. Once I got consistent with my skincare routine I noticed that my complexion was smoother, brighter, and hydrated. I think cleansing your face in the morning and at night makes a huge difference because you aren’t allowing a build-up of dirt on your skin.

Habit #4: A Healthy Diet
This is a tough one for me because I love french fries and chocolate chip cookies. You don’t have to have a perfect diet, but eating clean will improve your skin. People with great skin have diets that are rich in fruits and vegetables. They also keep their sugar intake to a minimum. There is sugar in almost everything, so when I go to the grocery store I try to shop the perimeter of the store.
Habit #5: Gently Exfoliate
While exfoliating isn’t one of my daily habits, it is important to gently exfoliate your skin. This helps to thoroughly remove dead skin cells. Exfoliating also gives your skin a smoother complexion and helps reduce the appearance of pores. I make sure to exfoliate at least two to three times per week. Doing this consistently has improved the texture of my skin.
When I cleanse my skin I like to use tools to help effectively remove excess dirt and oil. The Aari Solicon Brush is a 7-speed cleansing brush made with hypoallergenic silicon tips that reveal smoother and brighter skin. It comes with a USB charger and fits perfectly into your palm allowing for the ultimate clean.
