Welcome back, friends! I hope the first month of 2020 was good to you.
I am back with my January favorites. Normally I try to test 1-3 products per month, but let’s just say my impulse purchases have been out of hand lately…so much for saving money. There are a lot of firsts for me, so let’s get into it.
Glossier Skin Tint & Concealer
First up on my list of January favorites is the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint and Stretch Concealer Duo both in the shade G2. This was my first time purchasing Glossier products, and I love that they sell their items in sets, it’s very convenient and affordable. There are 12 different shades that range from very fair skin to rich deep skin. This is one of the first things I look for when shopping for new complexion products. The skin tint is perfect for everyday wear, my skin gets oily throughout the day, and I was able to go without primer with this product.
Wearing a full face to work is not my thing, so these products help me look put together. This duo is so effortless, quick to apply, enhances the skin, and gives it a natural glow. The same really goes for the concealer, this product is buildable and long-wearing. Although I did not use primer, I did use setting powder and setting spray to lock it in place.
Glossier Lash Slick
Finally, a mascara that adds curl and length to my baby lashes. I probably have the most nonexistent lashes you’ve ever seen. The Glossier Lash Slick actually curled and lengthened my lashes, the wand just gets right in the inner corner of the eye and makes each lash stand out. It does not clump, it does not smudge, and it gives the lashes a great natural look. I can’t wait to purchase more from Glossier.
Kylie Cosmetics Blush
Is it just me or does anyone else find it difficult to find that one blush that compliments both your skin tone and any makeup look? I have fallen in love with the Kylie Cosmetics Blush in the shade Rosy. This is a matte berry shade that is perfect for deeper skin tones. It is also highly pigmented and blends seamlessly.
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer: As far as primers go, I normally stick to the ones that mattify my skin, so I was skeptical about purchasing Hydro Grip primer. Does anyone buy products because of your favorite YouTuber? Jackie Aina influenced me to buy this primer, she has oily skin and it worked for her. To my surprise, this primer kept my foundation in place all day. It contains hyaluronic acid which helps keep oils at bay and adds moisture to the skin.
Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask
I love to mask it up at least once or twice a week. The Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is so low maintenance mask and so effective. I have not been able to put this mask down. These colder months have my skin on the dry side, and by applying this mask my skin is instantly hydrated. The product instructions say to let it sit on the skin for ten minutes and that works perfectly fine, but I like to apply a thin layer and leave it overnight. In April I will be going to Vegas and I can’t wait to use this on my flight.
Jouer High Coverage Concealer
This is also my first time purchasing products from Jouer Cosmetics, so I decided to go with the Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer in the shade Amber. This shade is perfect for highlighting and correcting darkness under the eyes. The consistency is thick enough where it provides enough coverage and it also blends out beautifully. It’s so satisfying to blend out concealer.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick
Charlotte Tilbury probably has the prettiest packaging so I had to finally purchase a lipstick. Birkin Brown is a soft chocolate brown shade that glides on the lips. Not only is the shade stunning and long-lasting, but it’s also comfortable on the lips. I will definitely be purchasing more Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, they are worth the price.
What were some of your January favorites? Did you stick with the same products, or did you pick up some new goodies?
