As a long time fan of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, I was excited to see that the line has expanded into an entire collection. Today I am going to be sharing my thoughts about some of the various products from this line. I did not purchase the sunscreen or the Multivitamin Booster, but you can read about these products here and here.
What is Hydro Boost all about?
These products were made to provide the skin with ultra-hydration. They contain hyaluronic acid which keeps the skin hydrated, soft and refreshed. Hyaluronic also acid acts as a sponge by absorbing water to give the skin immense moisture. All the products are water-based, non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), and oil-free. Making them perfect for just about every skin type.
First Impressions:
I had no idea that this collection included other products such as exfoliators, serums, and hydrating sunscreen. This line has everything you need for a complete skincare routine. Being that the products contain hyaluronic acid, I was hesitant because I had no idea what it was. I always thought that acids stripped the skin, but it does the exact opposite. The water gel now comes with SPF 25, which is a plus for me because I love a good 2-in-1 product.
Hydro Boost City Shield Water Gel Sunscreen
The
I love wearing this under my foundation or tinted moisturizer. The best part about this product is that it protects against environmental stressors. Some stressors include pollution, humidity, and the sun. It has SPF 25, contains vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid which all work together to keep the bad stuff out.
Hydro Boost City Shield Eye Serum
Like the moisturizer, the Hydro Boost City Shield Eye Serum also contains hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and vitamins B3 and B5 which help brighten the skin and retain moisture. The texture is water-based and has a gel consistency, and it also absorbs quickly into the skin. After using the serum daily, I did find that I still had to follow it up with another eye cream because it wasn’t hydrating enough for my under eye.
Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel
The Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel is great for all skin types. It’s soap-free, hypoallergenic, oil-free, and paraben-free, which makes
Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum
The Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum is fast-absorbing, hydrating, and lightweight. This serum contains niacinamide which reduces the size of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. There is a slight fragrance that wasn’t too noticeable in my opinion. As someone who has sensitive skin, it has not irritated my skin.
Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser
The
I look forward to exfoliating twice a week and this is the product I always grab. Neutrogena claims that is gentle enough for everyday use, but I keep exfoliating down to a minimum so that my skin does not dry out.
Hydro Boost 100% Hydrogel Mask
The Hydro Boost Hydro Gel Mask is a must-have. Not only is it super affordable, but it also does exactly what it says it will do. If you love sheet masks, you need this. It provides intense hydration and leaves your skin smooth and glowing. This is my go-to mask when my skin is dry or peeling. I love applying it right after I use the exfoliating cleanser. I also love how it comes in two pieces for the top half and bottom half of your face.
When opening the packing you will find that there is a piece of plastic on each piece of the mask. There were a few reviews where some were confused as to which side should be placed on the skin. I remove the plastic and put that side on my skin. It is not specified as to which side you should use. The pouch contains a lot of excess product, which I love because I use that on my neck.
Final Thoughts:
If you couldn’t tell I am a huge fan of this collection, I have seen noticeable results after using these products. My skin stays hydrated throughout the day and the products are very gentle on the skin. I think it is great that Neutrogena has expanded this line to include products that hydrate, treat, and protect your skin.
We can’t forget the price point here. Neutrogena is my favorite drugstore brand for skincare, and I will continue to purchase these products because of the great results. They’ve worked hard to provide products that work well with all skin types and don’t contain any harsh ingredients. I did not purchase all of these products at once, but if you were to do so, it would cost under $100. You do get a lot of product for the price point.
I highly recommend this line of Neutrogena Hydro Boost products, and I would recommend using them together for the best results. You do not need all of these items to see improvement in your skin. They can be purchased based on your skin’s needs. Each individual product has its benefits and works well on its own.
