8 Nude Lipsticks for Deep Skin

The perfect nude lipstick compliments any makeup look and makes you feel put together but finding nude lipsticks for deeper skin tones can be difficult. 

As a chocolate girl, I always had trouble finding the perfect nude shade that was just right. They were either too pink or too ashy, and never an actual nude lipstick.

All of these lipsticks and glosses are for everyone, but I wanted to cater to my chocolate girls today. Here are 8 nude lipsticks for deep complexions. 

MAC Matte Lipstick – Antique Velvet + Taupe

Taupe is a matte redish brown. A lot of lipsticks with red undertones look strange on me, but this is by far my favorite. I always pair this lip with a darker lip liner to tone it down. The formula is definitely super matte, but it is not drying. As far as Antique Velvet goes, it is described as an intense brown. I love a good brown shade, you can never go wrong with this shade no matter your skin tone.  

Dose of Colors Lip Gloss – Tough Cookie and Hot Cocoa 

I recently picked these two up at Ulta, and I love them. Let me just say that Dose of Colors has some of the best lip products, these glosses are so hydrating and the color pay off is amazing. They aren’t sticky and they smell like food! Hot Cocoa (bottom) is another warm chocolate shade, this shade just honestly looks so good on my skin tone. I am the most comfortable with this shade deeper brown shades. Tough Cookie (top) is a cool-toned brown, a little lighter and more subtle than Hot Cocoa. Tough Cookie is an every day shade that is perfect for the office.

Morphe Mega Matte Nude Lipstick – Goosebumps 

I will be completely honest, if you do not like super matte lipsticks you will not enjoy this one. This is a true matte lipstick. It is very drying on the lips, but I always use a lip balm before applying it. The shade is just so perfect, I couldn’t resist. Goosebumps is a Cayenne Cocoa, so it has a reddish-brown undertone. The coverage is great and it’s long-wearing, it pairs nicely with the Makeup Forever Limitless Brown Lip Liner.  I don’t know about you, but I never put on any lip products without lip liner, it just makes the lip look neat and defined. 

Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss – Black Coffee 

So, let’s talk about my favorite scent…coffee! All the French Press Lip Glosses smell like heaven. Black Coffee is a deep plum brown with a high shine finish. The collection is coffee-inspired and contains arabica cold press coffee oil and hydrating coffee butters. I also have this lip gloss in the shade French Press, I wore this shade the entire month of August. All of the six shades from this collection will look great on dark complexions.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lip Gloss – Mink

Mink is described as a cocoa brown, but on my skin tone, it looks like more of a cool-toned brown. It’s super comfortable and long-wearing. The coverage is sheer, so it’s perfect for wearing alone. All the glosses contain volulip which increases lip volume and locks in moisture, without the tingling sensation. They are also made with shea, avocado, murumuru, and cupuacu butters that provide mouisture and a smooth , non-sticky finish.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss – Maple

In my opinion, Anastasia Beverly Hills has one of my favorite lip glosses on the market. The pigment is unmatched and with an intense shimmer. I love the applicator, it makes it easy to apply the gloss in just a few swipes. Maple is a coppery brown with a metallic finish. This is not your traditional nude lipstick, but it is totally wearable. The shades are way out of my comfort zone, but makeup is about expiermenting right?
