Summer is all about glowing skin and glossy lips. I’ve had the Fenty Gloss Bomb in the shade Fenty Glow (not pictured) in my makeup bag since Rihanna dropped this work of art. This gloss is absolute perfection, from the applicator, to the texture, to the shine. Girl. If you don’t know, now you know. It’s not sticky or too thick, it glides right on and hydrates my lips. Now on to the color, it’s universal and goes well with any look or without any makeup at all.
Another gloss I’ve been loving this month is the Bite Beauty French Press Lips Gloss in the shade French Press. Okay first of all, it smells like coffee which is my favorite scent of all time. It’s the perfect nude gloss for my skin tone while giving my lips some color, but still not overdoing it. I normally don’t wear a full face of makeup and this gloss is perfect for those no makeup days.
Lashes and gloss has been my mood all Summer. I also like to wear the lip gloss on top of my NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Espresso (not pictured). Hands down the best lip pencil I’ve ever tried. I prefer these lip pencils over MAC, obviously because of the price, but the quality is unmatched. They go on so smooth and I never feel like its scratching my lips off.
Now on to a newer product that I’ve been loving. My skin is always so oily so I’m always searching for a primer that will smooth my pores and mattify my complexion. I finally tried the Milk Makeup Blur Stick. Normally primers are in liquid form, and I find that they often make my skin white leaving patches under my foundation. This primer came all the way through for me, it goes on clear and smooths my skin without clogging my pores. I was worried that this primer wouldn’t work well with my moisturizer because of its thick consistency and the primer’s thin consistency. This primer really looks like there’s nothing there, so I thought it would barely work, but of course I was wrong.
So who else is obsessed with Fenty Beauty? Rihanna killed it per usual and the Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer is the cream to my coffee if you will. I picked up the shade Mocha Mami. I could never find my perfect shade until now and this product is buildable and you definitely don’t need a lot, I learned that the hard way. Think of Spongebob when he got too tan lol. I’ve also been using the Body Lava in the shade Brown Sugar. It looks heavenly on my skin and gives me an amazing glow when I want to show a little skin. Trust me, it’s worth the splurge!
Every time I look for a new foundation the color is always off, it’s either too warm, or too cool. I always choose the darkest shade because if its too dark, I can always brighten it up with concealer. That’s annoying though, I just wanted my perfect match and I finally found it. The Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage Foundation in the shade F5.60. Let me tell you, it matches perfectly and dries down to a soft matte finish. Then I set it with the Filter Effect Finishing Powder in the shade #Filter13. I love the silky formula that sets my makeup and reduces shine and oilyness.
Kylie Cosmetics Skin Concealer – One of my favorite concealers that has a lightweight formula and gives a luminous finish. It’s perfect for the Summer months. This concealer is always in my makeup bag, I use the shade Toffee to highlight the high points of my face. I always. always. always. set my concealer with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder in Medium Deep, when this powder came out in a deeper color nobody was happier than me. All I need is a light dusting under the eyes and I’m ready to go. I am itching to try a new setting powder though, so please leave some suggestions in the comments!
This product has been my go-to for the past year. I always keep my KKW Powder Contour & Highlighting Kit in my makeup bag. I’ve been using it each time I do my makeup and it goes on like butter, I love the buildable formula.
The Maybelline Facestuido Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold is my favorite drugstore highlighter. Like many I was shocked that this product performed so well and is also perfect for those no makeup days. It is so buttery and blends like a dream, nothing is better than a gold highlight on chocolate skin.
